Cultural Element is a non-profit and non-governmental organization in the field of culture, founded in Belgrade on December 20, 2011. With the aim of promoting art and young artists, organizing cultural events, and providing education, the association has become one of the key drivers on the cultural scene. The founder and president of the managing board is playwright and director Tadija Miletić.
Activities and Projects
Cultural Element is the organizer of a series of projects in the fields of theater, music, literature, and education. Their activities are diverse and aimed at creating new opportunities for artists and audiences.
Theater and Performance
The organization is known for its innovative theatrical forms. In co-production with the Madlenianum Opera and Theatre, they created the dance-drama performance "Cases" based on motifs by Daniil Kharms. They have also realized a series of engaged performances such as "Kristallnacht" at the Banjica Camp Museum, as well as a cycle of concert-performances "Portraits of Composers."
Music
To popularize classical music, the concert series "Musical Vaults of Belgrade" was launched in 2015 in cooperation with the Belgrade City Museum. Cultural Element is also the organizer of the concert edition "Winners", presenting the laureates of the "Lazar Jovanović" International Competition.
Education
The most significant project in the field of education is the takeover of the organization of the "Lazar Jovanović" International Solo Singing Competition in 2016. In addition, they launched the music workshop "Opera for Beginners", which introduces opera art to young people in an innovative way.
Preservation of Heritage and Donations
Through the exhibition "Generations' Trace" at Princess Ljubica's Residence, Cultural Element contributed to the preservation of Serbia's cultural heritage. The organization is also known for its donation activities, among which the annual project "We Donate Art" stands out, rewarding talented individuals at the beginning of their careers.
