Tadija Miletić is a Serbian director, dramaturgist, motivational speaker, and founder of the organization "Cultural Element." As the director of the International Solo Singer Competition "Lazar Jovanović," he played a key role in its transformation into one of the leading professional platforms for young opera artists in the region.
Education
He completed his secondary music education at the "Stanković" Music School in three departments (piano, theory, solo singing). In 2011, he graduated from the Academy of Arts with a degree in Dramaturgy, in the class of Siniša Kovačević, and completed his master's degree in directing at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in the class of Nikita Milivojević. He further specialized in Monaco, at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo. He is currently completing his doctoral studies at the University of Arts in Belgrade. He is the recipient of a prestigious international scholarship awarded by the Mensa International Foundation.
Career and Cultural Element
He began his professional career at the Madlenianum Opera and Theatre as a dramaturgist, assistant director, and director. From 2008 to 2014, he worked for the BITEF festival. In 2011, together with a group of young artists, he founded the organization Cultural Element, with the goal of actively presenting culture and creating opportunities for artists.
In 2019, he became an assistant professor and then the head of the drama department at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts. Since 2022, he has been an associate professor at the FCA as well as at the Institute for Artistic Dance. In 2022, with his collaborators, he founded the Artistic Educational Center "Cultural Institute."
Directing Work
In March 2007, he began his professional career at Madlenianum, where he worked on the operas "Madama Butterfly," "Pagliacci," and the musicals "Les Misérables" and "Rebecca." He made his debut as a director in 2014 with the opera "L'elisir d'amore."
His work in launching a permanent opera scene in Kragujevac stands out, where he directed the first opera ever performed in that city – "Dido and Aeneas," followed by "The Marriage of Figaro." He also directed at the National Theatre in Sarajevo ("Madama Butterfly") and was a guest director in Beijing with the innovative 3D concert-performance "Letters of the Executed." He has worked in Japan and Monaco. He has directed over thirty operas, plays, and projects.
